About

About
Josh Romeo (he/him) is a NYC based actor, theater maker, and passionately opinionated jokester who isn't scared of anything, except the dark.  He is originally from Troy, New York, where he is the oldest sibling to two younger sisters and the best friend to a three-legged dog named Jenga.  He got his start in theater by convincing his mom to let him take acting class instead of Spanish in 6th grade because he had a crush on the theater teacher's daughter.  After his premiere as Slightly in Peter Pan, he dove head first into the thriving community theater circuit of the capital region, and was able to participate in 50 shows before graduating high school.
Josh attended Wagner College and graduated with a B.A. in Theatre Performance with a minor in art.  While at Wagner, he was able to serve as the Graphic Designer on the board of Student Run Musical Theater.  He also directed The Wizard of Oz in a dorm room lounge with Completely Student Productions.  Most importantly he created the first improv troupe on campus, The Spin Cycle, in his sophomore year and served as the President until his graduation.  He was luckily enough to perform in several department shows, earning him the Faculty Award for Merit in Theater.
Josh loves to exercise his imagination and organizational skills in many different ways.  During his senior year of college, he created "The Josh Romeo Show - an Improvised Variety Show", that held a year long monthly residency at The Players Theater off-Broadway.  He picked up playwrighting during quarantine and has written over 10 plays and 2 musicals since then.  He served as a Playwright in Residence for one of the student run theater clubs on campus and was tasked to create an interactive virtual theater piece that involved a voting system for the virtual audience to impact the story line.  His play "PS306" competed in the New York Theater Festival in the winter of 2023.
Since 2022 Josh has been working professionally across the country at places like Cedar Point, Mill Mountain Theater, Hunterdon Hills Playhouse, and the Greater Ocean City Theater Company as well as various developmental productions of new works with New York City production companies.
Josh once had a psychic tell him his soul is on this Earth to do work and that is honestly something that resonates with him.  He is a hustler that keeps busy and works hard to complete projects and achieve goals.  He loves playing roles that challenge his creativity and dare to go to the dark side.  Whether that is a track that plays multiple characters or the devilish villain he is always game.  Eventually, he would like to achieve his two biggest dreams - perform in a show he wrote on Broadway and to be a contestant on his favorite show "Survivor".
